Children can learn to read at a young age
Most if not all education systems emphasise the three Rs of reading, writing and arithmetic. Picking up these basic skills would ensure that a child will be able to make good progress from grade to grade. That is why a cousin in the US placed much importance that her child should pick up reading at a very young age. She sent her child to a SCORE! Learning Center where they have qualified reading tutors who take an active, hands-on approach to tutoring. My cousin had all praises for the tutors at SCORE!

Do Sunscreens Have You Covered?
Summer is here, at least in the Northern Hemisphere but here in Malaysia, everyday is summer and of late, the days have been extraordinarily hot. The hotspots burning away in Sumatra are not helping one bit. The burning makes for an unhealthy environment as some days, one can smell the burning with the sky becoming hazy and hazardous for health.
We go out into the sun without a thought about protection. Some of us even go to the beach without any sunscreen lotion and that is asking for trouble. Here is an interesting article on sunscreens from The New York Times. Notice the importance placed on sunscreen lotions by New Yorkers. A lesson we could all learn from.

Are you a watch-collector?

Switzerland remains one of the places I would love to visit. A friend just came back from Switzerland with a degree in Hospitality and Hotel Management. He loves the place so much he is planning to set up home there and has started moving funds to buy property.
When I think about Switzerland, a few things come to mind - snow and beauty, skiing, Swiss holidays and chalets, Swiss watches, Swatch, Swiss Army knives, swiss army watches, the Matterhorn.

SCORE! helps make math learning fun
All parents are concerned about their children's welfare and that includes how they cope at school. My girlfriend and her family who have recently relocated to the United States are concerned about their daughter's ability to cope, especially in Math and are looking at a SCORE! Learning center near them for math tutors to coach them.
SCORE! Learning Centres provide tutoring from kindergarteners right up to High schoolers. Every SCORE! math program is designed to help the child improve his problem-solving skills so that he can be confident and believe in his abilities. And with guidance and support of SCORE!'s trained tutors, students will find math a little less complicated and a lot more fun. When children love to learn, they will learn. At SCORE! this love will be instilled to make learning a pleasant experience.

Rheumatoid Arthritis
Approximately five in 1000 Malaysians are affected by a disease of the joints without even knowing that what they are suffering is in fact Rheumatoid Arthritis.
What then is Rheumatoid Arthritis and how much do you know about it?
An article in The Star on Rheumatoid Arthritis states:
"...that rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease in which joints, usually including those of the hands and feet, are symmetrically inflamed, resulting in swelling, pain, and often the eventual destruction of the joint’s interior.
The condition may start off as a slight stiffness or some tenderness and swelling in the joints, particularly in the mornings. However, many people ignore the pain and view it as a temporary irritation rather than a possible medical condition as it usually fades away after an hour or two, or after massaging and placing a warm cloth over the affected areas."

A luxury home
I was invited to a housewarming party last month and I had a great time. The company was nice, the food was wonderful. It was catered and the spread was wide and delicious. There was even a good spread for vegetarians. I was very impressed by the decor of the interior. The landscaping of the garden grounds was equally impressive. Everything about the house fits a luxury home to a T. The chandeliers were awesome, the furniture was luxurious, the walls were richly adorned with beautiful paintings. What an elegant home.
