Live Longer with Resveratrol

I once read that people who drink wine live longer. Studies are beginning to show that this could be true.

Have you heard of Resveratrol? This is a compound found in the skin of red grapes and in red wine. Resveratrol is also found in an Oriental medicine that treats ailments of blood vessels, heart and liver.

Europeans have also been known to live longer despite their high-fat diet. This could be attributed to their higher consumption of wine, more than anywhere else in the world.

Resveratrol supplements are now available to give us that added boost of the beneficial anti-oxidant properties. Think longevity, think Reservatrol.

Side-effects of Weight-loss Supplements

Are you not eating right or simply overweight no matter what you do and are looking for a wonder-pill? There are lots in the market and there is one that is capable of helping people lose 1 pound per month, plus, the drug is now legal and is sold over the counter.

Unfortunately, Alli comes not without side-effects. For starters, you will need to put up with unexpected, sudden, and explosive diarrhea, so much so you will need to be carrying around an extra pair of pants or perhaps wearing diapers.

There are, of course, less dramatic effects from other weight-loss supplements but the thing to remember is that the bulk of any weight-loss plan is to be on a healthy diet and adequate amount of exercise.

Vitamin B-12 Extreme

It is common knowledge that the food we eat is not enough to supply us all the nutrients our body needs. To counteract this, many of us turn to food supplements.

I recently found out about a new B-12 supplement. This potent single-dose B-12 Extreme provides all four forms of B-12 that ensures mental acuity in the sense that it helps increase the brain's focus and clarity; gives us more energy; supports our liver functions; and detoxifies our body in helping remove unhealthy heavy metals from the system and support overall detoxification.

There certainly is no substitute for good health so I'm going to get myself this new, most potent single-dose B-12 which is available for purchase at ProHealth.com at an introductory offer of 20% discount.

Vitamin check by the government

The Health Ministry will conduct an exercise to verify the vitamin and mineral content in health supplements as claimed by manufacturers. The assessment would take three months and would be carried out by the Health Ministry's food quality and safety, and pharmaceutical services divisions.

The Health Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek told The Star that “There are plenty of vitamins and minerals as claimed, but nobody knows whether this is true or not. It is a long-term continuous exercise.”

He said that another reason for the study was because vitamins or minerals when consumed excessively can sometimes do “more harm than good.”

A study showed that 20% of Malaysians, mostly in urban areas, are fond of taking food supplements and Malaysians spend between RM50 to RM100 monthly on health supplements.

Vitamins C, E, B complex, multivitamins, folic acid and calcium are among the more popular dietary supplements, while evening primrose oil, Omega 3 fish oil, gingko biloba, royal jelly and cod liver oil make up popular natural supplements.
